Bachelor of Social Work
— Child Welfare specialization
The BSW Child Welfare specialization requires students to complete a fourth-year practicum (SOWK 430) with the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) or an Indigenous Child and Family Service agency. The School of Social Work and Human Services works closely with our partners to place these students, however the School cannot guarantee a placement with either of these agencies as placements are based on agency capacity. Obtaining a placement is a competitive process and requires students to complete several steps. The Field Education Coordinator will work through this process with each student and will provide the necessary information at the appropriate point in the program. Contact the Field Education Assistant for details.
